We happen to get lid infection at a particular point in time. It may be a stye, staphylococcal blepharitis, infected chalazion and internal hordeolum (stye). Here, we get a lot of discharge that may make our facial appearance unpleasant. Bacteria take an opportunity when we fail to care for our lids. Such infections may be accompanied by eye pain, redness, tearing and even itchness. There are some home remedies you can try and may help reduce the symptoms.

* Water clears off some debris that get clogged on our lashes. It becomes imperative to wash our face thoroughly to reduce the risk or severity of the infection.

* Warm compresses work pretty well. Get a face towel, dip into warm water and use it to clean your eyelids and lashes. This causes dilatation of vessels allowing the leukocytes to migrate to the site to fight off the infection.

* You can use saline water if available. * Cold compress is also useful in taking care of the inflammation caused by the infection. It constricts blood vessels thereby reducing pain and swelling. You can also clean the eye lashes with cold water (by closing your eye and using cotton to remove any crust or debris clogged there.

Lid hygiene is useful in preventing lid infections. Ensure proper lid hygiene now and save your eyelids from certain infections.
